Read I Bring the Storms
Editorial Review:
“I Bring the Storms.” What a galvanizing title. A little like thunder (with lightning sure to follow). And you don’t have to forecast the weather to know that will happen when you turn the cover of Tell-Tale Publishing’s 6th Annual Horror Anthology. Their well-established debuts of prior collections delivered fully on chills and things that go bump in the night. I BRING THE STORMS & OTHER TALES evokes something subliminal about the thin line between a rational universe and what lies beyond. Get to know the characters and their human passions, their fears and desires, then awaken to the eerie crumbling of sanity as subtle as an unexpected breath on the back of your neck.

Looking for Mr. Right? If he's too good to be true, he is. Know a college student who's looking forward to holiday break? Better hope they're not alone in the dorms. Not college aged? Then be careful you don't spend too much time home alone. Your memories may be all you have left. It still may be better than being stuck in the wilderness with a hungry pack stalking you. And if you think the devil made you do it, he probably did. You may have killed your best friend. But even the dead have tales to tell. Be sure you stock plenty of candles to illuminate their way. You'll need them. You won't want to sleep with the lights off, if you can even get to sleep.

"Now in its fifth incarnation, Tell-Tale's horror anthologies have become an annual benchmark of emerging talent and well-told stories. The select seven featured here will yank you backward and forward again in time, visiting the exotic and the seemingly mundane, at a pace and a pulse calibrated for Halloween chills. Beware of a cat named Sabrina and a Celtic goddess with a passport to Salem – yes, that Salem. An old farmhouse could hold more vivid memories than just its mortal foundations, and think twice about rescuing the sister of a young boy if you find yourself in a desert. Twins may not be what they seem, so hang onto your hat (and your head). For that matter, hang on to your whole body unless you want to risk permanent eviction. Also, you may never use steak knives again. Trick or treat! "

Ever see one of those seedy-looking hotels in the middle of nowhere and get reminded of Psycho, even as you wonder who might actually stay or work there? Or perhaps you’ve traveled on business and found yourself in the wrong part of town--and the natives are restless.
Perhaps you’re from one of those families where tradition is everything, and you just accept it as the norm. But what if it suddenly becomes obvious that it’s not normal at all? What would you do? Legends are handed down from childhood, and they’re almost always based on facts. Do you remember any of those urban legends? The kids of James Buchanan are about to experience an ancient Native American legend for themselves. Why not join them . . . if you dare?
Welcome to Tell-Tale’s 4th Annual Horror Anthology. We think the ancient and more modern legends explored in this edition will make you sleep with the lights on for days.

FOREWORD for Secret Santa Anthology
Oh, the Horror! The Horror!
I've been a fan since my older sister used to wake me up so I could sneak down to watch Creature Feature when I was in elementary school! Funny, I never could seem to get back to sleep . . . While my main writing focus is the paranormal, my passion for the darker side of the scary spectrum was resurrected while working on Indie horror film, In The Woods, helping with the screenplay, writing a novelization, AND having a guest role as "Bar Extra"! That endeavor put Dean Koontz, Stephen King and Justin Cronin into my "Must Read" rotation and convinced me to watch (through my fingers) movies such as Cabin in the Woods, The Others, and Woman in Black.
Tell-Tale Publishing has an eye for the macabre and for authors who know how to wield a Poe-worthy pen. I've enjoyed being one of the judges in their yearly Halloween talent search (two of the winners are in this edition!). I'm always thrilled to be thrilled by something new in the genre, and this collection fits the bill. Quick, blood-curdling reads to curl up with on a dark night, taken a deadly sip at a time, like a fine, hoarded vintage to savor and appreciate when the nights grow cold and the wind howls. That was the wind . . . wasn't it?
Cheers! Happy reading, and don't forget to leave the nightlight on!

Offered an enormous sum by an anonymous benefactor for the acquisition of an ancient ceremonial relic, a sum that would keep the antiquities shop in Cairo her father left her afloat while she continued her own archaeological pursuits, Lady Isabella Valentine was distracted rather than tempted, then suspicious, when the dashing young Bedouin slipped in just before closing and promised her a deal she couldn’t refuse--for the very same relic. Despite his sensual appeal, she did refuse him, sending him away.
Prince Mukhtar, son of Sheikh Abdul Kummel al-Rahman, leader of the Hassana, is on a sacred Illuminati mission for Queen Isis to retrieve something stolen from one of her temples over a thousand years ago. This mortal disbeliever though an enchanting English rose, however beautiful she might be, is clearly in the power of the Usurper and must be persuaded to help him, one way or another. But neither of them know of the evil power they are up against, or what hidden dangers await them in the tomb of the high priest.

"...Stolen Secrets is an awesome urban fantasy romance! The world building is well crafted and the romance scenes are sensual and well written. I loved the Egyptian flavor of this story, and the fact that the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses are still alive and really immortals that have lived for centuries. The author has built a world where Gods and Goddesses are real, and still working behind the scenes though not in the way one would normally think of them. I also loved how the Illuminati were explained and woven into the story. Couple that with a story that is so artfully crafted that I could not figure out the ending until I read it, well, this is one series that I will definitely continue reading. If you love Egypt, and God and Goddess lore, you do not want to miss Stolen Secrets!" --Regina, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More

Illuminati Series
He's a cool-headed enforcer, and she's a seductive assassin...
Ljluka Vargas, immortal prince and the cool-headed enforcer for the Vargas Dynasty, must go up against his most intriguing enemy, the mysterious Nalini. She intends to beat him to the secret archaeological site of The Book of Life which contains the genetic secrets of their ancient ancestors.
In order to escape the cruel domination of her family and gain freedom for her mother, Nalini assumes the role of assassin. In her rival, the sleek and deadly Luc, she finds a different kind of danger. She’s supposed to eliminate him, but that would foil destiny’s plan for them to be together.
It’s a race from power-hungry D.C. cabinet rooms through the secret realms of the Vatican, from cloud forests and desert sands to the caverns of the Underworld as mankind hangs in the balance. For whoever possesses the Book of Life has the potential to rule the world, offering or denying immortality to the human race.

"Strong, well-drawn characters walk a tight-rope of ancient legends and modern day intrigues, blending action a la Indiana Jones/Lara Croft with the lure of a Dan Brownesque mythology in a smart adventure/romance this talented debut author categorizes as urban fantasy reinvented. Then add feuding family pathos packed with surprises. These folks could have their own reality show: Affairs of the Rich and Immortal! Alsobrooks leads the reader along a daring chase that leaves plenty of teasing openings for series expansion. My personal favorite - the eloquently fawning servant Hassidim. I need a Hassidim. I want a Hassidim. And then, of course, there's the hunky brother, Andrew . . . but that, I'm told, is another story. I'll be looking forward to it."

Upon the death of her mother, Jasmine accompanies her distracted, grief-stricken father to her perverted uncle's hotel in Cairo, Egypt. She takes her mother's job and becomes the magician's assistant and also learns to enhance her father's magic with spells discovered from her mother's Book of Shadows. They carry on, but all is not as it seems. Behind the glitz and glamour the smiling facade is a true illusion. Jasmine is in danger and needs to escape the gilded cage in which she's imprisoned. Her magic, though strong, is not powerful enough, so she plans to use a talisman she acquires from an antiquities dealer with the help of her one true friend, Ahmed, the hotel's security assistant. The legendary ring of King Solomon will enable her to control a terrifying but powerful jinni. He will boost her father's magic enough to secure a contract in Vegas so they can return to America. But at what cost?
Praise for "The Opal Ring"
In his foreword, USA Today Best-Selling Author of Case White, Thomas "Sully" Sullivan, states that: Nowhere will fate be more exquisitely tangled than in the tale of a young woman trapped between the terror of sexual abuse and the unknowns in the magical world of the Jinn.
