Artist Statement

My right brain has been so busy! I am taking piano lessons, learning to quilt, work with clay and create crafts as well as paint.

To me, art is an emotional journey, whatever medium is used. As individual as souls, each piece offers a view of a single journey, or a mosaic of multiple adventures. That’s why everyone has their own interpretation of art; it’s evocative to the human psyche. It draws you in and makes you feel, wonder, and explore. The viewer must always respond, because art speaks to their very being. Their greatest response is not conscious. Its impact is reflected in their emotional reaction.

The piece that speaks most strongly to you resonates to your individual, innermost self, your id. I try to produce pieces that invite the viewer in, that make them want to visit the secretive, enticing places their soul longs to discover. My style like my taste runs from abstract, folksiness, traditional and new age. A better world begins with a happier inner being, the ability to escape harsh realities and imagine possibilities. Art helps me nurture inner peace within the chaos of subconscious. My purpose in sharing my art is hope that it might help others value enlightenment, diversity, and the eternal promise of change.
