Book Bling Blog
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officiallyInsecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting! Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post. Let’s rock the neurotic writing world! Our Twitter hashtag is #IWSG And we’re revving up IWSG Day to make it more fun and interactive! Every month, we'll announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG Day post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say. October 5 Question: When do you know your story is ready? The awesome co-hosts for the October 5 posting of the IWSG are Beverly Stowe McClure, Megan Morgan, Viola Fury, Madeline Mora-Summonte, Angela Wooldridge, andSusan Gourley! Don't forget to check out the guidelines for this year's IWSG Anthology Contest! The Reveal--The Deadline
Be honest, isn't that the perfect time to cut her head off? LOL! She gets her veil out of the way, revealing her neck, doesn't suspect or fight back because she's taken by surprise...perfect! Yup, that's when my story is ready. I call it deadline ready. You can always find one more sentence to tweak, one more scene to enhance, one more plot to twist, but sooner or later, you have to let it go! So just as in the short story I have being released on October 15th, I had to let it go because if I didn't it would not have been the perfect moment--the deadline! I revised it a zillion times--mostly because it was my first horror genre and my first short story, but also because I am never satisfied. Ah, the horrors of being a perfectionist! What about you?

Ah, deadlines, the perfect cure for perfectionism. My IWSG tee shirt is fading. I should get blue this time.

As a fellow perfectionist, I can relate! Good thing we have deadlines to prompt us to let go.

I love deadlines. Give me unlimited time and I'll waste it. Best wishes on your short story.
