Weekend Writing Warriors #SnippetSunday Osiris & Isis One of the Greatest Love Stories Ever Told7/24/2016 Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors, the weekly hop for everyone who loves to write! Sign up below with your name, blog and email and share an 8 to 10 sentence snippet of your writing on Sunday. Your post needs to be live between 12:00 noon on Saturday 07/23/16 and 9:00 AM on Sunday 07/24/16. Visit other participants on the list and read, critique, and comment on their 8sunday posts. I've been sharing from my current WIP The Tree of Life. When we left off, Rio, in Shapeshifter form, had managed to escape from one of the Vargas clan.We will be opening on a new chapter and in a new setting-- Egypt, in a hidden pyramid, headquarters of Osiris... “One of yours was there, in the jungles of Brazil.” “One of mine, my queen?” Osiris pushed back his chair and rose from the matching carved and gilded desk at which he had been working. His gaze, as he cornered the desk, swept his wife’s shapely form with a familiar appreciation that separations and millennia had never dulled. “A bit more specific perhaps?” he coaxed and swooped in to capture her mouth and take advantage of the parted lips attempting to comply with his previous request. Behind them, Andrew cleared his throat. Seeing that his father had every intention of ignoring him, he rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulder against the door jamb to wait. Luc walked over to a small table and filled a glass with lightly spiced, heavily chilled tea. He held it up, gesturing toward the dispenser. Kirin shook her head, declining his offer, and continued across the room to sit cross-legged on the wide, plush couch tossed liberally with overstuffed pillows. I hope you enjoyed this week's snippet as much as I enjoyed posting it for Elizabeth. Be sure to read all the other nice Weekend Writng Warriors posts, and the #SnippetSunday authors so you can find some other fun reads too!--Hudson, signing off to take a well deserved nap on my fluffy pillow right by the patio door so I can keep an eye on my tweetie birdies!

The "One of yours" leaves me very curious. A lot going on, but I'm hung up on the first half of this snippet.

So this is what a god-hangout looks like! And I'm glad Osiris still has the hots for Isis after all these years.

LOL! No reason not to adopt creature comforts while hanging on to the old school traditions they pick and choose, eh? Yeah, he's a bad boy, but she's got him on lock down pretty much these days...

Something tells me he's not overly interested in the answer to his question. Or at least, not urgently so.

Oooh, I love the myth of Isis and Osiris! I have a stunning print of Isis holding Osiris whose original artist I've long forgotten name of (sadly) that's been hanging on my wall forever.

Thanks, Heather! So cool about the print! I love the mythology too, of course. I think sometimes people forget it's a love story!

Hey, flirting is important for a relationship, too. Even when it's your parents. :)

Oh, yes, Caitlin, especially when it's your parents! LOL! And these siblings are well used to their parents' turbulent relationship. They're probably just glad they're speaking at the moment and nothing is being thrown around in a jealous rage due to Osiris' previous wandering eye!

Thanks, Teresa! Ack! You will have my Beta Readers screaching! I'm as bad as Alicia! No way can I avoid going back and correcting that and then I will revise the entire chapter! LOL! Thank you, thank you though! I have been Beta Reading a Rock Band Promoter romance novel and jamming is much more fun than door jambing. Then too I just made a writer wonder if he was going to be able to do a Foreword, moving Forward....

One of the teachers at the school where I taught took myths and had her students rewrite them. I love your take on it.

Something tells me they might be waiting a bit on those details. LOL. I love this line, by the way! "His gaze, as he cornered the desk, swept his wife’s shapely form with a familiar appreciation that separations and millennia had never dulled."
