Spread the word, share the love, warriors. Twitter hashtag #8sunday. Last week I shared from my short horror story, Shadow Walkers. Someone was pounding on Sabina's penthouse door. I am going to continue with that same story this week. The petite redhead fairly exploded into the room amidst a swirl of canary chiffon and whiffs of soft floral, the cheery adornment in stark contrast to the ravaged look on her upturned oval face. Dark mascara ran down a ghostly palette where streaks had been smudged across high, sun-freckled cheekbones by repeated attempts, like the one she performed now, to still the rivulets of tears. “Oh, Sabina. Thank the goddess you are home,” Tessa declared, throwing herself into Sabina’s waiting arms and sobbing brokenly. “Shhh. What has you so hysterical, Tess?” Sabina asked, trying to sound calm above the shuddering mass of soft copper curls pressed against her shoulder, though her friend’s unusual behavior terrified her, making her dread the answer to her own question. Why didn’t I call her earlier when I felt that all wasn’t right with her? She stiffened as her earlier premonition manifested itself into a sudden vision of Lydia, her six-year-old goddaughter and Tessa’s only child, crouched in a dark room. No, not a room, underground, a cavern of some kind. Hudson here! Thank goodness for air conditioning. I don't know how outside doggies stand it. It was 107 degrees and just taking care of business was too long to be out in this heat. I hope you enjoyed the snippet I posted for Elizabeth today. Be sure to read the other great snippets from the Weekend Writing Warriors and #SnippetSunday writers!

Tense scene. Sabina's guilt is a good touch, which also shows her talent.

This is not boding well for the child, if Sabina's feelings are correct. Great description of Tessa's distress!

Wow, that's getting worse. It's good she has visions though I don't think Tessa can say anything, crying so much.

Nice foreshadowing. I wonder what, if anything, she can do to change what she's seen.

The entrance and description had me expecting some sort of over dramatic non-emergency. I love the twist I got from it.
